Dec.12th to 16th, 2009 • Beijing
In China, the documentary has narrow channels of communication, and there are no special cinemas for public screenings, which lead to a huge gap in the documentary development between China and the West. The best international documentary films have little chance to spread in China. Chinese movie goers have limited channels to watch these best films, meanwhile, Chinese documentary practitioners are also lack of communication with overseas peers and opportunities to learn from them.
As a professional media company which is focusing on the field of documentary all the time, Beijing Channel Zero Media, together with Beijing Film Academy, is planning the 2009 Beijing International Documentary Forum, especially on the basis of our first-line experience about the current status of domestic and overseas documentary industry. More than 10 most excellent documentary directors and producers will be invited to carry out in-depth discussion, including 4 top international multi-award-winning documentary masters: Steve James (USA), Heddy Honigmann (Netherlands), Pepe Danquart (Deutschland) and Mark Lewis (Australia).
